- Bad: The lock is longer than expected—try password reset or contact IT.
Password reset
Goal: Use password reset to clear the lock and regain access.
- Go to “Forgot password” or “Reset password” on the login page.
- Complete verification (email or phone) and set a new password.
- Good: The reset completes and you can log in.
- Bad: Verification fails or the service does not offer reset—contact IT for work accounts.
When to get help
Contact your IT admin or the service support if:
- The lock does not clear after the usual wait (e.g. 1 hour).
- Password reset does not work or you cannot verify your identity.
- You have a work or school account and need an admin to clear the lock.
