Steps

Goal: Check login, device status, and app connection so the app can control the device.

  • Confirm you are logged into the correct account. Verify you should see your account in the app.
  • Check that the device is online in the app. If offline, power-cycle the device.
  • Restart the app and the device.
  • Good: The app controls the device. Bad: The app still will not control—re-add the device or call support.

Login check

Goal: Confirm you are logged into the correct account.

  • Open app settings and check the account. Wrong account or logged-out state blocks control.
  • Good: Logged in correctly. Bad: Wrong account—log in and try again.

Device check

Goal: Confirm the device is online.

  • Check the device status in the app. Offline devices cannot be controlled.
  • Good: Device is online. Bad: Device offline—power-cycle and get it online first.

When to get help

Call the manufacturer if:

  • The app still will not control the device after checking login, device status, and re-adding.
  • You have tried all steps and the app never responds.

Verification

  • The app shows the device as online.
  • Commands from the app reach the device.
  • The device responds to app controls.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Confirm login Check you are logged into the correct account.
  2. Check device online Confirm the device is online in the app.
  3. Restart Restart the app and the device.
  4. Re-add device Remove and re-add the device in the app.
  5. Call support Manufacturer support if all steps fail.
