Steps

Goal: Free storage and ensure a good connection so apps can install.

  • Check storage—need at least 1–2 GB free.
  • Good: Storage free. Proceed to Clear Play Store cache.
  • Bad: Free storage first.

Free storage

Goal: Ensure adequate space for app installs.

  • Delete files, empty Trash, remove unused apps. Need at least 1–2 GB free.
  • Good: Storage freed. Retry the install.
  • Bad: Remove more files or apps.

Clear Play Store cache

Goal: Fix Play Store glitches.

  • Settings, Apps, Google Play Store, Storage, Clear cache. Restart. Retry the install.
  • Good: Install proceeds.
  • Bad: Re-add the Google account or Powerwash.

When to get help

Call a technician if:

  • Storage is free and connection is good.
  • Play Store cache is cleared.
  • Powerwash does not help.

Verification

  • App installs from the Play Store.
  • App appears in the launcher.
  • No “Insufficient storage” or install errors.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Storage and network Free at least 1–2 GB; connect to WiFi.
  2. Play Store cache Clear cache; restart.
  3. Re-add account and Powerwash Remove and re-add account; Powerwash if needed.
  4. Call a pro Install still fails.
