Steps
Goal: Free storage and ensure a good connection so apps can install.
- Check storage—need at least 1–2 GB free.
- Good: Storage free. Proceed to Clear Play Store cache.
- Bad: Free storage first.
Free storage
Goal: Ensure adequate space for app installs.
- Delete files, empty Trash, remove unused apps. Need at least 1–2 GB free.
- Good: Storage freed. Retry the install.
- Bad: Remove more files or apps.
Clear Play Store cache
Goal: Fix Play Store glitches.
- Settings, Apps, Google Play Store, Storage, Clear cache. Restart. Retry the install.
- Good: Install proceeds.
- Bad: Re-add the Google account or Powerwash.
When to get help
Call a technician if:
- Storage is free and connection is good.
- Play Store cache is cleared.
- Powerwash does not help.
Verification
- App installs from the Play Store.
- App appears in the launcher.
- No “Insufficient storage” or install errors.
Escalation ladder
Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.
- Storage and network Free at least 1–2 GB; connect to WiFi.
- Play Store cache Clear cache; restart.
- Re-add account and Powerwash Remove and re-add account; Powerwash if needed.
