Steps
Goal: Rule out volume, mute, and output so the speakers work.
- Confirm the volume is up and not muted.
- Good: Volume up. Proceed to Check volume.
- Bad: Turn up volume; turn off mute.

Goal: Ensure volume and mute are correct.
- Press the volume-up key. Check the volume icon for a mute symbol. Turn off mute if needed.
- Good: Volume up, not muted. Proceed to Check output.
- Bad: Unmute and increase volume.
Check output
Goal: Ensure sound goes to the internal speakers.
- Click the volume icon. Select “Internal speaker”. Unplug any headphones.
