Steps

Goal: Rule out WiFi settings and network issues.

  • Confirm WiFi is turned on and networks are visible.
  • Good: Networks listed. Proceed to Forget and reconnect.
  • Bad: Turn WiFi on and restart the router.

Restart router and Chromebook

Goal: Clear router and Chromebook state.

  • Unplug the router for 30 seconds. Plug it back in. Restart the Chromebook. Try connecting.
  • Good: Connection works.
  • Bad: Forget the network and reconnect.

Forget and reconnect

Goal: Clear corrupted network profile.

  • Forget the network. Select it again and enter the correct password.
  • Good: Chromebook connects.
  • Bad: Try a different network or Powerwash.

When to get help

Call a technician if:

  • Other devices connect to the same network but the Chromebook does not after Powerwash.
  • The WiFi hardware may have failed.

Verification

  • Chromebook connects to the network.
  • Internet works in the browser.
  • Network icon shows connected.

  1. WiFi and restart Turn WiFi on; restart router and Chromebook.
