Steps

Goal: Check power, Wi‑Fi signal, and restart the device so it stays online.

  • Confirm the device has power. Verify you should see indicator lights.
  • Check Wi‑Fi signal strength at the device. Move it closer to the router if weak.
  • Power-cycle the router and the device.
  • Good: The device stays online. Bad: The device still goes offline—update firmware or call support.

Power check

Goal: Confirm the device has power.

  • Check the outlet and plug. Confirm the device is not on a switched outlet that is off.
  • Good: Device has power. Bad: No power—check outlet, plug, or switch.

Signal check

Goal: Check Wi‑Fi signal at the device location.

  • Use the app or a Wi‑Fi analyzer. Strong signal is often -50 dBm or better.
  • Good: Signal is strong. Bad: Signal is weak—move the device or add an extender.

When to get help

Call the manufacturer if:

  • The device still goes offline after checking power, signal, and restarting.
  • You have tried all steps and the device drops repeatedly.

Verification

  • The device stays online in the app.
  • The device responds to commands consistently.
  • No repeated offline events.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.
