Steps
Goal: Check input, cable, and source—then isolate the cause.
- Confirm the display is on the correct DisplayPort input. Use the display menu or buttons.
- Good: The picture appears—wrong input was the cause.
- Bad: Still no picture—proceed to Check input and cable.
Check input and cable
Goal: Rule out wrong input and loose or bad cable.
- Push the DisplayPort connector in until it clicks. To remove, press the release button—do not pull by the cable.
- Try a different DisplayPort cable. Use a certified DisplayPort 1.2 or DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
- Good: The picture appears with a different cable or after reseating—you have isolated the cause.
- Bad: Still no picture—proceed to Power-cycle and settings.
Power-cycle and settings
Goal: Reset the handshake and verify the source.
- Turn off both the PC and the display. Unplug both from power for 30 seconds. Plug back in, turn on the display first, then the PC.
- Windows: Settings > System > Display. Ensure the display is detected. Try a different DisplayPort port on the PC.
- Try the display with HDMI. If HDMI works but DisplayPort does not, the DisplayPort port or cable may be faulty.
- Good: The picture appears after power-cycle or with HDMI.
- Bad: Still no signal—see When to get help.
When to get help
Call the manufacturer if:
- The display works with HDMI or another source but not with DisplayPort.
- You have tried different cables, ports, and power cycles.
- The PC works with another display via DisplayPort but not with this one.
Verification
- The display shows the source picture on the DisplayPort input.
- No flickering or intermittent signal loss.
- Resolution and refresh rate are correct for your setup.
