Steps
Goal: Check placement, setup, and connection so the Wi‑Fi extender extends the network.
- Place the extender within range of the main router—ideally halfway to the coverage area.
- Confirm the extender is set up via the setup wizard and connected to the main router.
- Restart the extender and the main router.
- Good: The extender extends the network. Bad: The extender still will not extend—reset and re-setup, or call support.
Placement check
Goal: Confirm the extender is within range.
- Extenders must receive the main router signal. Place it halfway between the router and the area to cover.
- Good: Extender in range. Bad: Too far—move it closer.
Setup check
Goal: Confirm the extender is set up and connected.
- Run the setup wizard if the extender was never configured. Enter the main router Wi‑Fi password.
- Good: Extender connected. Bad: Not set up—run setup wizard.
