Steps

Goal: Check network, power, and retry so the firmware update succeeds.

  • Confirm the device has internet. Verify you should see it online.
  • Keep the device powered during the entire update. Do not unplug—interrupting can brick the device.
  • Restart the device and retry the update.
  • Good: The firmware updates successfully. Bad: The update still fails—factory reset or call support.

Network check

Goal: Confirm the device has internet.

  • Check the device is online and can reach the internet. Weak Wi‑Fi or VPN can block updates.
  • Good: Device has internet. Bad: No internet—connect and retry.

Retry update

Goal: Retry the update after fixing issues.

  • Power-cycle the device. Check for updates again. Disable VPN if used.
  • Good: Update succeeds. Bad: Still fails—check storage, use manufacturer app, or call support.

When to get help

Call the manufacturer if:

  • The firmware still will not update after checking network, power, and retrying.
  • The device is stuck in a boot loop or will not start after an interrupted update.

Verification

  • The firmware update completes without error.
  • The device shows the new firmware version in settings.
  • The device works normally after the update.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  2. Keep powered Do not unplug during update.
  3. Retry Restart device and retry the update.
