Steps

Goal: Get Handoff working between Mac and iPhone/iPad.

  • Turn on Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi.
  • Confirm the same Apple ID on both devices.
  • Enable Handoff on both devices.

Check Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi

Goal: Confirm both are on.

  • Menu bar: Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi. Both must be on.
  • Good: Both on. Proceed to Enable Handoff.
  • Bad: Turn both on.

Enable Handoff

Goal: Turn on Handoff on Mac and iPhone/iPad.

  • Mac: General → AirDrop & Handoff → Allow Handoff.
  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → General → AirDrop & Handoff → Handoff.
  • Good: Handoff icon appears in Dock when using a supported app.
  • Bad: Restart both devices; sign out and back in to iCloud.

When to get help
