Is iCloud storage full?
Full storage stops sync.
System Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. Good: space available—check Apple ID. Bad: full—free space or upgrade plan.
You can change your answer later.
Free iCloud storage
Delete old backups, optimize Photos, empty Mail trash. Or upgrade storage plan. Retry sync.
Is the same Apple ID signed in on all devices?
Different accounts do not sync.
System Settings → [Your Name]. Compare with iPhone, iPad. Good: same ID—check network. Bad: different ID—sign in with correct account.
You can change your answer later.
Sign in with correct Apple ID
Sign out of wrong account. Sign in with the Apple ID used on other devices. Retry sync.
Is the Mac online and Wi‑Fi stable?
iCloud needs network to sync.
Check Wi‑Fi. Disable VPN. Sign out and back in to iCloud. Good: sync resumes. Bad: still stuck—call Apple support.

Frequently asked questions
- Why would iCloud not sync?
- iCloud storage full, different Apple ID on devices, poor network, or sync paused. Check storage and sign-in first.
- Can I fix iCloud sync myself?
- Yes. Free iCloud space, confirm same Apple ID, check Wi‑Fi, sign out and back in to iCloud. Data stays in iCloud when you sign out.
- When should I call Apple for iCloud sync?
- If you have freed space, confirmed the same Apple ID, and sync still fails after signing out and back in. Apple support can check account status.
