Steps
Goal: Check placement, channel, and restart so the Wi‑Fi repeater stops cutting out.
- Place the repeater within range of the main router. Move it closer if it cuts out.
- Restart the repeater and the main router.
- Try a different Wi‑Fi channel if channel congestion may be the cause.
- Good: The repeater stays connected. Bad: The repeater still cuts out—reset and re-setup, or call support.
Placement check
Goal: Confirm the repeater is within range.
- Repeaters too far from the main router have a weak link and cut out.
- Good: Repeater in range. Bad: Too far—move it closer.
Channel check
Goal: Reduce channel congestion.
- Log into the router and try channel 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4 GHz. Pick one that is less used.
- Good: Less congestion. Bad: Still congested—try 5 GHz if supported.
