Steps

Goal: Check placement, channel, and restart so the Wi‑Fi repeater stops cutting out.

  • Place the repeater within range of the main router. Move it closer if it cuts out.
  • Restart the repeater and the main router.
  • Try a different Wi‑Fi channel if channel congestion may be the cause.
  • Good: The repeater stays connected. Bad: The repeater still cuts out—reset and re-setup, or call support.

Placement check

Goal: Confirm the repeater is within range.

  • Repeaters too far from the main router have a weak link and cut out.
  • Good: Repeater in range. Bad: Too far—move it closer.

Channel check

Goal: Reduce channel congestion.

  • Log into the router and try channel 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4 GHz. Pick one that is less used.
  • Good: Less congestion. Bad: Still congested—try 5 GHz if supported.

When to get help

Call the manufacturer if:

  • The repeater still cuts out after checking placement, channel, and resetting.
  • You have tried all steps and the repeater drops repeatedly.

Verification

  • The repeater stays connected for extended periods.
  • No repeated cutouts when using devices through the repeater.
  • Signal remains stable.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Check placement Repeater within range of main router.
  2. Restart Restart repeater and main router.
  3. Change channel Try a different Wi‑Fi channel on the router.
  4. Reset and re-setup Factory reset the repeater and set up again.
  5. Call support Manufacturer support if all steps fail.

You can change your answer later.

Repeater stable

The restart resolved the issue. Monitor for further cutouts.

Change channel or reset
