Steps

Goal: Confirm the symptom, check network and cache, then rule out updates and corrupted data.

Check network and force-close

Goal: Confirm the TV has internet and the app is not stuck.

  • Check TV Settings > Network. Confirm connected. Run a connection test.
  • Force-close the app—hold Back or Home, or power-cycle the TV.
  • Good: Network is good and app loads after close. Done.
  • Bad: Still fails—proceed to Clear cache and update.

Clear cache and update

Goal: Rule out corrupted cache and outdated app or firmware.

  • Open TV Settings > Apps. Find the app. Clear cache. Reopen.
  • Check the app store for an update. Check TV Settings > Support for firmware updates.
  • Good: Cache cleared or update fixes it. Done.
  • Bad: Still fails—uninstall and reinstall the app.

When to get help

Contact the app provider if:

  • The app still will not load after all checks.
  • The app works on other devices (phone, tablet) but not on this TV.

If no apps load at all, see fix-tv-has-smart-features-will-not-work.

Verification

  • The app opens and loads content.
  • No loading screen that never finishes.
  • No immediate crash on launch.

Is the TV connected to the internet?

Apps need network to load.

Check TV Settings > Network. Confirm connected. Run connection test if available. Connected: force-close app and clear cache. Disconnected: connect to Wi‑Fi or Ethernet first.

You can change your answer later.

Connect and test

Connect TV to Wi‑Fi or Ethernet. Reopen the app. If it loads, done. If not, clear cache and check for updates.

Force-close and clear cache

Corrupted cache can prevent loading.

Close the app fully. Settings > Apps > [app] > Clear cache. Reopen. Works: done. Still fails: update app and TV firmware, then reinstall.
Question

App loads after cache clear?

You can change your answer later.

Update and reinstall

Update the app from the app store. Update TV firmware from Settings. If still no: uninstall and reinstall the app. If it works on other devices but not this TV, contact the app provider.

No internet, app cache corrupted, outdated app or firmware, or a bug in the app. Network and cache issues are the most common causes.
Can I fix a TV app that will not load myself?
Yes. Check network, force-close and clear cache, update the app and TV firmware, and reinstall the app. Most issues are network or cache related.
When should I contact the app provider?
If the app fails only on your TV but works on other devices, or after a reinstall. The app may have a bug or compatibility issue with your TV model.
