Steps

Goal: Confirm the symptom, check parental controls and account, then rule out payment issues.

Check parental controls and PIN

Goal: Rule out parental control blocks.

  • Open parental controls. Check if PPV or purchases are blocked. Enter the parental or PPV PIN to allow PPV.
  • Good: PPV is enabled and you can order. Done.
  • Bad: PIN rejected or no reset option—see fix-tv-has-parental-control-will-not-work.

Check account and payment

Goal: Rule out account and payment issues.

  • Log in to your provider account. Confirm your plan allows PPV and the payment method is valid. Check for spending limits.
  • Unplug the box and TV for 60 seconds. Plug the box in first, then the TV. Try ordering again.
  • Good: Account is valid and PPV works. Done.
  • Bad: Payment invalid or limit hit—update payment or contact provider.

When to get help

Contact your cable or streaming provider if:

  • Parental controls and account checks do not fix it.
  • The provider can verify payment, remove blocks, or enable PPV.

Do not share your PIN with support—they can reset it through your account.

Verification

  • PPV menu opens and you can browse events.
  • Order completes without rejection.
  • Playback starts after purchase.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Parental controls Check if PPV is blocked; enter parental or PPV PIN.
  2. Account Confirm plan allows PPV; check payment method.
  3. Spending limit Check for PPV purchase cap.
  4. Power-cycle Unplug box and TV for 60 seconds.
  5. When to call a pro If provider cannot fix payment or blocks, call a technician.
