Steps

- Bad: Phone displays sometimes—may be loose connection or phone settings.
Check input and adapter
Goal: Confirm the correct HDMI input is selected and the adapter is firmly connected.
- Use the TV remote to select the HDMI input that matches where the adapter is plugged in.
- Confirm the adapter is firmly plugged into the phone and the HDMI cable is firmly plugged into the TV. Reseat both ends.
- Good: Correct input selected and adapter is snug. The signal appears. Done.
- Bad: Still no signal—proceed to Check phone settings.
Check phone settings
Goal: Rule out phone output or screen mirroring being off.
- Wake the phone and keep the screen on. Check Settings > Display or Connections for HDMI output or screen mirroring. Enable if off.
- Good: Output is enabled. The phone screen appears on the TV. Done.
- Bad: Still no signal—proceed to Check cable and power-cycle.
Check cable and power-cycle
Goal: Rule out faulty cable and reset HDMI handshake.
- Try a known-good HDMI cable. Try a different adapter or HDMI port on the TV.
- Unplug the TV and the adapter. Wait 30 seconds. Plug the TV back in, then reconnect the adapter and phone.
- Good: Power-cycle or new cable fixes it. The signal appears. Done.
- Bad: Still no signal—call a technician.
