Steps
Goal: Confirm the symptom, check input and power, then rule out remote and Wi-Fi issues.
- Confirm Roku Stick does not show a picture, does not respond to the remote, or will not stream.
- Good: You have confirmed the symptom. Proceed to Check input and power.
- Bad: Roku Stick works sometimes—may be remote or Wi-Fi.
Check input and power
Goal: Confirm the correct input is selected and Roku Stick has power.
- Use the TV remote to select the HDMI input for the Roku Stick.
- Confirm the Roku Stick has power—USB from TV or the included power adapter.
- Good: Correct input selected and Roku Stick has power. The home screen appears. Done.
- Bad: Still no picture—proceed to Check Wi-Fi and remote.
Check Wi-Fi and remote
Goal: Rule out remote and Wi-Fi issues.
- Replace the batteries in the Roku remote. Use the Roku mobile app if the remote does not respond.
- Go to Settings > Network and confirm the Roku Stick is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Good: Remote works and Wi-Fi is connected. Roku Stick streams. Done.
- Bad: Still does not work—proceed to Power-cycle.
Power-cycle
Goal: Reset Roku Stick and TV.
- Unplug the Roku Stick from power. Unplug the TV. Wait 30 seconds. Plug back in.
- Good: Power-cycle fixes it. Roku Stick responds. Done.
- Bad: Still does not work—restart from Settings or factory reset.

Replace the Roku Stick if:
- Factory reset and all checks do not fix it. The device may be faulty.

- The TV has no picture on any input—the TV may need repair.
