Check remote and TV buttons
Goal: Confirm whether the remote or TV hardware is at fault.

- Good: TV buttons work—use them or replace the remote. Done.
- Bad: Neither works—proceed to Check audio output.
Check audio output
Goal: Confirm the correct audio output is selected.
- Open TV Settings > Audio. Confirm TV speakers are enabled, or the correct external output is selected.

Power-cycle
Goal: Reset volume control software.
- Unplug the TV from power. Wait 30 seconds. Plug it back in. Turn on the TV.
