Goal: Switch from Duplicate to Extend.

  • Win+P > Extend. Or Display settings > Multiple displays > Extend these displays.
  • Good: Extend on. Bad: Click Detect; check cable.

Detect second display

Goal: Get Windows to see the second display.

  • Display settings > Detect. Reseat cable. Try different port.
  • Good: Second display detected. Bad: Update driver; try different cable.
