Steps

Goal: Fix Epic so it opens.

  • Run as administrator. Kill stuck process. Clear cache.
  • Good: Epic opens. Bad: Reinstall.

Run as administrator

Goal: Grant elevated permissions.

  • Right-click Epic > Run as administrator.
  • Good: Epic opens. Bad: Kill process and clear cache.

Clear cache

Goal: Clear corrupted cache.

  • Exit Epic. Delete Launcher/Cache. Restart Epic.
  • Good: Epic opens. Bad: Reinstall.

Reinstalling Epic usually fixes it. Games stay in Epic Games folder.

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Run as admin Right-click Epic > Run as administrator.
  2. Kill process and cache End Epic process; delete Launcher/Cache.
  3. Compatibility Run in compatibility mode.
  4. Reinstall Reinstall Epic; keep games folder.
