Steps

Goal: Remove the extension from Extensions page, reset the browser, or create a new profile.

  • Try Remove on the Extensions page. If grayed out, reset the browser.
  • Good: Extension removed. You are done.
  • Bad: Run Malwarebytes. Create a new profile if it reappears.

Remove extension

Goal: Remove the extension from the browser.

  • Chrome: chrome://extensions. Edge: edge://extensions. Click Remove.
  • Good: Extension removed.
  • Bad: Reset the browser or run Malwarebytes.

Reset browser

Goal: Remove all extensions by resetting the browser.

  • Chrome: Settings, Reset settings. Edge: Settings, Reset.
  • Good: All extensions removed.
  • Bad: Create a new profile or reinstall the browser.

When to get help

Call a technician if:

  • The extension is enforced by work or school policy.
  • You need to edit registry or policy and are unsure.
  • The extension reappears after reinstall.

Verification

  • The extension no longer appears in Extensions.
  • Browser works without the extension.
  • No errors when opening the browser.
