Steps

Goal: Fix headphone jack so sound goes to headphones.

  • Select headphones in Sound settings. Reseat the plug.
  • Good: Headphones work. Bad: Reinstall driver.

Select headphones

Goal: Route audio to headphones.

  • Sound settings > Output. Select Headphones when plugged in.
  • Good: Sound in headphones. Bad: Check if headphones appear.

Reinstall driver

Goal: Reset jack detection.

  • Device Manager > Sound. Uninstall audio device. Restart.
  • Good: Headphones detected. Bad: Jack may need service.

Verification
