Steps

Goal: Fix mic so it captures sound.

  • Allow microphone access in Privacy. Select correct input device.
  • Good: Mic works. Bad: Reinstall driver.

Check privacy

Goal: Allow apps to use the mic.

  • Settings > Privacy > Microphone. Turn on access.
  • Good: Access on. Bad: Enable it.

Select input device

Goal: Use the correct microphone.

  • Sound settings > Input. Select correct mic. Set volume up.
  • Good: Mic selected. Bad: Select and set volume.

  • Privacy and settings are correct, driver reinstalled, and mic still does not work.
