Steps

Goal: Get OneDrive syncing again.

  • Confirm you are signed in and have storage space.
  • Good: Proceed to Pause and resume sync.
  • Bad: Sign in or free storage.

Goal: Confirm account and space.

  • Check OneDrive icon for sign-in status. Check onedrive.com for storage.
  • Good: Signed in, space OK. Proceed to Pause and resume sync.
  • Bad: Sign in or free storage.

Pause and resume sync

Goal: Clear stuck sync.

  • Right-click OneDrive icon > Pause syncing. Wait. Resume.
  • Good: Sync works. Bad: Sign out and sign back in.

When to get help

Contact Microsoft support if:

  • OneDrive does not sync after reset.
  • Check status.office.com for outages.

Verification

  • OneDrive icon shows no errors.
  • Files sync (check cloud icon on files).
  • OneDrive folder shows correct sync status.

Escalation ladder

Work from the device outward. Stop when the problem is fixed.

  1. Sign-in and storage Confirm signed in; check storage space.
  2. Pause and resume Pause sync, wait, resume.
  3. Sign out and back in Unlink PC, sign in again.
  4. Reset OneDrive Run onedrive.exe /reset.
