Disable in Task Manager
Goal: Stop the program from running at startup.
- Task Manager, Startup. Right-click the program, Disable. Restart.
- Good: Program does not start.
- Bad: Check the program’s settings or Startup folder.
Program settings
Goal: Use the program’s own option to disable startup.
- Open the program. Settings or Options. Find “Start with Windows” or similar. Uncheck.
- Good: Program will not start at login.
- Bad: Remove from Startup folder (shell:startup).
