Run Reset from Windows

Goal: Run reset from Settings.

  • Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. Choose Remove everything or Keep my files.
  • Good: Reset completes. Bad: Proceed to Reset from installation media.

Reset from installation media

Goal: Bypass on-disk recovery.

  • Create Windows USB with Media Creation Tool. Boot from USB. Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  • Good: Reset completes. Bad: Call a pro for data recovery.
