Steps

Run as administrator

Goal: Grant elevated permissions.

  • Right-click Steam > Run as administrator.
  • Good: Steam opens. Bad: Kill process and delete cache.

Delete cache

Goal: Clear corrupted cache.

  • Exit Steam. Delete Steam/appcache. Restart Steam.
  • Good: Steam opens. Bad: Reinstall.

  1. Run as admin Right-click Steam > Run as administrator.
  2. Kill process and cache End steam.exe; delete appcache.
