  • Bad: Still no signal—proceed to Power-cycle.

Power-cycle

Goal: Reset HDMI handshake between TV and console.

  • Unplug the TV and the console from power. Wait 30 seconds. Plug both back in. Turn on the console first, then the TV.

  • Bad: Still no signal—check console output settings or call a technician.

Frequently asked questions

Why would a game console not display on the TV?
Wrong input selected, console in rest mode or off, loose or faulty HDMI cable, bad HDMI port, or handshake issue. Some TVs do not support 4K, HDR, or 120Hz output from the console.
Can I fix game console that will not display myself?
Yes. Check input, power, cable, and power-cycle. Most issues are input, cable, or handshake related. Lower the console output resolution if the TV does not support it.
