Steps

- Confirm Netflix opens but playback fails—error code, buffering, or black screen.
- Good: You have confirmed the symptom. Proceed to Check account and network.
- Bad: Netflix app will not load—see fix-tv-has-app-will-not-load.
Check account and network
Goal: Confirm Netflix account is active and the TV has a strong connection.
- Check netflix.com or the Netflix app on your phone. Confirm the account is active and paid.
- Check TV Settings > Network. Confirm connected. Netflix needs at least 3 Mbps for SD, 5 for HD.
- Good: Account active and network strong. Proceed to Restart app and update.
- Bad: Account inactive—renew at netflix.com. Weak network—improve connection or use Ethernet.
Restart app and update
Goal: Clear cache and rule out outdated app or firmware.
- Force-close Netflix. Power-cycle the TV for 60 seconds. Reopen Netflix.
- Update the Netflix app from the app store. Update TV firmware from Settings.
- Sign out of Netflix on the TV and sign back in.
- Good: Playback works after restart or sign-in. Done.
- Bad: Still fails—contact Netflix support with the error code.
