- Good: You have confirmed the symptom. Proceed to Check sign-in and app.
- Bad: The app will not open—see fix-tv-has-no-signal or fix-tv-will-not-turn-on.
Check sign-in and app
Goal: Rule out sign-out and outdated or corrupted app.
- Check you are signed in to YouTube (profile or Settings). Sign in again if needed.
- Update the YouTube app from the TV app store. Clear the cache in TV Settings > Apps > YouTube.
- Good: Signed in, app updated, cache cleared. YouTube plays. Done.
- Bad: Still will not play—proceed to Check network and power-cycle.
Check network and power-cycle
Goal: Confirm the TV has internet and reset app and network state.
- Open TV Settings > Network. Confirm the TV is connected and has internet. Run a network test if available.
- Unplug the TV and the router from power. Wait 30 seconds. Plug the router in first, then the TV. Turn on the TV and open YouTube.
- Good: Power-cycle fixes the issue. YouTube plays. Done.
- Bad: Still will not play—try a different video or restart the TV. If other apps work but YouTube does not, call a technician.
